FAQ
XLT Ovens frequently asked questions
Q. Why is XLT better?
A. We are committed to building the best oven at the best price. We manufacture our ovens with 304 stainless steel, inside and out. This provides for very long life and makes the oven easy to clean and look good. Of course we include a domestic 5 year warranty as standard with all our ovens. We pioneered the 3rd, 4th, and 5th year warranty programs. We are the only major manufacturer that delivers, installs, and bakes with our own factory technicians.
Q. What about energy usage?
A. At XLT we have empirical data that shows we are the lowest total energy user in the market place and we are the total life cycle cost leader. That is to say we are the least expensive new oven to purchase, our energy usage is also the lowest in the market place and our cost to repair & service the oven is the best in the industry.
Q. In our business we can’t afford down time, what do you offer for service?
A. XLT has developed a service process that we find works well in holding down costs, getting our customers quick attention and getting our ovens up and running.
1.
Call our toll free number to report any issues.
Because the call is placed directly to the factory we will have a record of the issue in our database. As all service requires a call to the factory we are able to document every issue in real time. This data is very powerful in making continual improvements on our products.
2. We will
trouble shoot problems over the phone.
We find that a lot of the problems can be resolved this way.
3. If the problem cannot be resolved over the phone, we will generally be able to
diagnose the issue and will arrange for an XLT authorized service technician to make a service call
with parts needed. Each of our models use many of the same parts, which keeps inventory more accessible and costs down. We have essential spare parts that can be kept by our service network, chain offices, field managers, or even at the store level if customers feel they need this service.
Q. Why are your oven doors not hinged?
A. After several years of experience refurbishing competitors ovens, XLT found that hinges on doors would droop causing very poor seals and heat to escape. By design, we have used 4 simple yet very robust hand knobs to secure the front of the oven in place. When the need arises to get inside and clean, then simply remove the front for easy and complete interior access. Our front panel fits into the body of the oven. It is metal on metal, but due to the recessed design, much less heat escapes and there is no room for miss-fitting doors. All our fronts fit snug and tight for the life of the oven.
Q. Why are XLT ovens so much lower in cost than their competitors?
A. XLT chooses to use the free and open market to source and buy better and less expensive parts. This also allows our customers to get replacement parts not only from XLT direct, but also from many other suppliers. All this is done to keep the cost of the ovens reasonable. Of course, at XLT we have a corporate mission that dictates we treat our customers fairly, and excessive margins are not fair.
